Back to LoanVaaniRESPONSIBLE BORROWING
A lower EMI is not always a lower cost.
Use this checklist before sharing documents or accepting a loan offer.
Check the total outflow
- Compare APR, total repayment, processing fee, GST, insurance, stamp duty and penal charges.
- Match the tenure to a repayment amount your monthly budget can carry even if income changes.
- Read the Key Facts Statement and loan agreement before accepting an offer.
Keep control of your documents
- Use the lender’s verified domain or official app listing.
- Never share OTPs, UPI PINs, passwords or remote-device access with a caller.
- Do not pay a person who promises approval or asks for an unlock fee.
Avoid debt stacking
Do not take a new loan simply to pay another loan unless you have compared the full cost and have a clear repayment plan. If you are already struggling, contact the regulated lender early and keep written records of your request.
Use the source of truth
Comparison pages and calculators are starting points. The regulated lender’s KFS, sanction letter and agreement are the documents that define your obligations.
