Borrower safety

Know who is behind
the loan app.

Search 2,659 reported app–lender–platform associations from RBI’s Digital Lending Apps directory. The app, its owner and the lender can be different. Match the legal lender before sharing documents or accepting an offer.

A directory entry is not an RBI approval.

RBI’s Digital Lending Apps directory contains information submitted by regulated entities about their app associations. RBI says the directory is provided without further validation. It is a useful cross-check, not a safety rating or a promise of credit. Multiple rows can refer to the same app through different lenders or platforms; the row count is not a count of unique apps.

Search the reported associations

Snapshot retrieved on . This is the retrieval date, not an RBI status or effective date. Search the app, regulated entity or reported owner, then compare the result with the official report and the app’s lender disclosure.

If the report does not load, open RBI’s home page and look for “DLA’s deployed by Regulated Entities” under Citizen’s Corner. Do not install an APK sent over a message to access the directory.

Search is case-insensitive. Exact name matches a complete app, regulated-entity or owner field. No personal details are needed.

Found a matching name? Check its current association in the official report and the lender’s own disclosures before installing an app or sharing personal information.

Match three identities

  1. The app: check its exact store listing, developer and privacy policy. Similar names and logos can be misleading.
  2. The regulated lender: read the lender disclosure inside the app, then check the lender’s own website for its apps and service providers.
  3. Your offer: the lender named in the Key Facts Statement and agreement must match the actual offer. An app with several partners does not mean each partner has approved you.

Read the cost before accepting

Review the amount you will receive, annual percentage rate, instalments, term and applicable charges. Keep the KFS and repayment schedule. A small monthly rate on an advert does not tell you the total cost.

If the legal lender is unclear, the names do not match, or someone asks for a payment to a personal account to “unlock” a loan, pause and verify using the lender’s official contact channel.

Check the company as well as the app

An NBFC registration record describes a company, not every app using its name. Our dated RBI company snapshot can help check the legal name; it does not replace the live DLA report or the lender’s current disclosures.
